Frequently asked questions about MonkTerminal
Is Monk a real person?
No. Monk is an artificial intelligence specialized in conversation and guidance from a practical Buddhist perspective. It does not hide its nature or try to replace a human relationship.
Do I need to be Buddhist?
No. Monk uses attention, compassion, responsibility, and equanimity as practical tools. It requires no belief, ritual, or religious knowledge.
Which languages can I use?
Monk receives the browser's preferred language and can converse in multiple languages. You can ask to change language at any time.
Can I turn the music off?
Yes. Tell Monk to turn it off, turn it on, or adjust the volume. Music is available only in the web experience.
Can Monk help in an emergency?
It is not an emergency or clinical service. If there is immediate danger or risk of harm, contact emergency services in your country or someone who can be physically present.
How do I enter on mobile?
Open monkterminal.com and tap the YOU box to write. Use your keyboard’s send key and select menu options with a single tap.
Can I resume a conversation?
Yes, while the room remains available. After an unexpected restart, the browser can recover the last confirmed state if it retains the necessary information. Rooms expire after 24 hours of inactivity; recovery does not replace a saved capsule.
How do I save a .monk capsule?
Ask Monk to download the conversation and save the .monk file. On another day, tell Monk you have a previous conversation: you can select the file and continue with that context.
How do I start a new conversation?
Ask Monk. The interface will request confirmation before replacing the current conversation; you can cancel.
